A 6-Day Leadership Programme · Founding Cohort 2026

Overthunk!
Leadership

Your brain has been getting in the way of the leader you already are.

Your brain has been chatting sh*t about your leadership for long enough.
Time to do something about it.

Block 1 · Thu–Fri 18–19 June
Block 2 · Mon–Tue 13–14 July
Block 3 · Thu–Fri 3–4 Sept
Secure Your Place
Change Working · 33 High Street · Northallerton · 12 spaces only

Most leadership training teaches you what to do.

This one deals with what happens when your own head gets in the way.

Not your team. Not your budget. Not the difficult bloke in accounts.
You. And what's going on between your ears.

Sound familiar?

The capable leader whose head won't shut up

You're good at the job. People respect you. But the overthinking, the self-doubt, the second-guessing — it follows you everywhere.

The one who's done training before

You've sat through the workshops. You've got the folder. And you came away thinking: "That was fine, but nothing really changed."

The newly appointed leader

Promoted because you're brilliant at your job. Nobody told you that leading people needs an almost entirely different set of skills.

The leader who can see it coming

On your way up and want to get the foundations right before the pressure kicks in. Far better than figuring it out the hard way.

What we cover

Six days across three blocks, with time between each to apply what you've learned before coming back for more. No jargon. No fluff. Small group. Real work.

01 Know Yourself First
Thursday 18 & Friday 19 June 2026 · Northallerton
  • How your brain filters reality — and why it matters
  • Why two people experience the same situation differently
  • Your default patterns under pressure
  • What's actually driving your behaviour
  • The stress response and emotional hijack
  • Practical techniques for managing your state
  • Building a personal toolkit for hard moments
  • The physiology-emotion connection
02 Sort Your Head Out
Monday 13 & Tuesday 14 July 2026 · Northallerton
  • Imposter syndrome — the structure and how to dismantle it
  • Overthinking — break the loop for good
  • The inner critic — understand it, manage it, shut it up
  • Limiting beliefs that are running your leadership
  • People pleasing — where it comes from, what it costs
  • Real assertiveness — not the aggressive version
  • Boundaries — setting, holding, not feeling guilty
  • Having the conversation you've been avoiding
03 Now Lead Other People
Thursday 3 & Friday 4 September 2026 · Northallerton
  • What actually drives human behaviour
  • Why the same approach doesn't work on everyone
  • Reading people — what it tells you
  • The Drama Triangle — victim, persecutor, rescuer
  • How to lead without feeding the drama
  • Difficult conversations — frameworks and real practice
  • The team member who undermines. The one who steamrollers.
  • Your 90-day plan for keeping this going

A note on the summer gap. The longer break before Block 3 is intentional — it gives you the whole summer to apply what you've learned before we bring it all together in September. Most people find this is where the real shifts happen.

A note on pricing.

I've been delivering versions of this content for over 20 years. The material works. This is the first time I've brought it all together in this format — which is why the first cohort runs at a price that won't be repeated. You get the full programme. I get your honest feedback and a testimonial if it's deserved. Simple.

Frequently asked.

Is this therapy? +
No. This is leadership development. We work on mindset, behaviour and practical skills. If something personal comes up — and it sometimes does — we handle it professionally and move on. You won't be asked to share anything you don't want to share.
I've done loads of leadership training. How is this different? +
Most leadership training focuses on what to do. This focuses on what's stopping you from doing it. That's the bit most programmes skip entirely — and it's usually the bit that matters most.
Do I need any prior knowledge? +
None at all. This works whether you're new to leadership or have been doing it for twenty years. The content is relevant regardless of sector, organisation size or level of seniority.
Is it just presentations and listening? +
No. There's input, discussion, and practical exercises throughout. You'll be doing real work on real things relevant to your actual context — not hypothetical case studies about fictional companies.
What sectors do people come from? +
All sorts. Corporate, SME, public sector, charity, education, healthcare. The challenges we cover show up everywhere. If you lead people, this is relevant.
Can my employer pay? +
Yes. We can issue a formal invoice to your organisation. Get in touch directly and we'll sort it. Many employers will fund this under a training and development budget.
What's the cancellation policy? +
Cancellations more than 28 days before Block 1 receive a full refund. Within 28 days, your place can be transferred to a colleague or to a future cohort. We'll always try to be reasonable — get in touch if your circumstances change.
Why the lower price for the first cohort? +
The content is proven. The format — 6 days, 3 blocks, open mixed cohort — is new. In exchange I ask for genuine feedback throughout, and a testimonial at the end if you feel it's warranted.

Author — Overthunk!

I've spent over 20 years working with leaders across the public, private and third sectors — in boardrooms, training rooms, and one-to-one coaching sessions. I've seen the same patterns come up again and again. Capable people held back not by a lack of skill, but by what's going on inside their own heads.

I'm a qualified NLP trainer, psychotherapist, clinical hypnotherapist and IEMT practitioner. I'm also the author of Overthunk! — Your Brain is Chatting Sh*t to You, an Amazon number one on the NLP charts, and the founder of Change Working.

I work directly with people. No associate trainers, no corporate delivery machine. When you book this programme, you get me.
